ExtinctionRebellion

A12 Blockade

On September 9th, in protest of the 47 billion euros which are going to the fossil industry, extinction rebellion wanted to protest in front of parliament. The A12 highway, a built manifestation for the fossil and car industry, runs right next to it. It was the ideal place to protest. The protesters where stopped in their tracks when entering the highway on their way to parliament.

The arrests and water canons are very well reported on by other news outlets but I wanted to show the pictures I took while I was there. The pictures you probably wouldn’t ever see in the news. Pictures of very concerned people exercising their right to protest and having a good time while doing it. I’ve taken pictures of people making music, playing soccer and just enjoying themselves. Most were not arrested.
